The mattress is 20 cm longer than a standard mattress, so feet and neck sit correctly on the surface rather than hanging off the end. That correct alignment spreads pressure more evenly across the body, reducing the likelihood of pressure points on the heels, shoulders and neck. In short: extra length means better fit, greater comfort and improved protection for skin and circulation, whether at home, on holiday or in a residential care setting.

Adjustability for Maximum Comfort 

Our bed puts control where it matters — with several adjustable settings that can be tailored to each person’s needs. Key features include:

• Height adjustment – raises or lowers the whole bed to make transfers and personal care safer and easier.

• Elevating backrest – multiple backrest positions let you sit up to eat, read or watch TV, or lie flat to rest.

• Leg lift – raise the lower section to support the knees and ankles, ease swelling and improve circulation.

Each function is easily selected and adjusted, so you or a carer can quickly personalise the setup. Use one position for restful sleep, another for daytime activities, and fine-tune settings in between. Profiling Bed With Safe Care Height

Our hospital homecare bed has a height adjustment of 34-84cm making it easier to get in and out of. It is also over the safe care height for when carers are carrying out tasks, avoiding injuries through bending and straining.

Removable head & foot ends allow for 360° access when carrying out care routines. This profiling homecare bed can be operated without the head and footboards attached, allowing you to watch TV unobstructed and to socialise with others in the room.

What Is The Size Of A Hospital Bed?

The bed supports users up to 21st (135 kg). Our standard rental bed has a mattress platform that measures 90 cm wide by 220 cm long. These are the internal mattress platform dimensions. When measuring your room, allow an extra 10–15 cm in width and an extra 15–20 cm in length. This allowance accounts for the head and footboards.

We install the homecare hospital bed into the majority of residential settings via our delivery engineers. If you need a larger option, we also offer a Bariatric Profiling Hospital Bed that measures 120 cm wide.

Enhanced Safety Features

Safety is a priority when you hire our home hospital bed. It includes a lockable handset to prevent accidental position changes. It also has individual braked castors for secure positioning. You can equip the bed with side rails that raise and lower as needed for extra security and peace of mind. If you choose the CIC hospital head and footboards, they feature rounded mouldings and rotating rubber bumpers to protect your walls during movement.

For this hospital bed with an extended mattress for taller users, there are two mattress options to choose from depending on your needs.

The Dynamic Air Mattress provides clinical-grade protection for very high-risk users or those with existing tissue damage. This full replacement system offers adjustable comfort settings and a Max Inflate mode for safe patient transfers, and its infection-control features with MRSA-resistant materials, high-frequency welded seams and a breathable, removable multi-stretch PU cover that combines with simple controls, audible/visual alarms, an auto-lockout function and removable cells to keep operation and servicing straightforward.

The Castellated Foam Reflex Mattress delivers comfortable, effective pressure redistribution for high-risk patients. Castellated reflex foam provides support while internal air channels help reduce heat and moisture on the skin, improving the microclimate. A smooth multi-stretch PU cover is waterproof yet vapour permeable to reduce shear and support infection control, and the non-turn design reduces manual handling. This mattress is suitable for electric profiling bed frames.
