Innovative & unique overhead patient transfer method

The Robin gantry hoist offers an innovative transfer method for those who require an overhead hoist system, but do not want to permanently attach a hoist track to their ceilings or walls.

Gantry setups offer an ideal solution when it is not convenient for a permanent system to be installed; such as when someone with disabilities is travelling away from home on holiday or to care facilities, if it is not possible to fix a track to walls and ceilings or if there is only a short-medium term need for the equipment.

A gantry hoist can also be moved from one room to another.

Comfortable & safe transfers with important patient to carer interaction

The Robin track hoist offers a unique system for transferring patients and is the only hoist the has the dual strap technology. This offers comfortable and safe transfers with optimal communication between the patient and carer. Clear and effective communication during a transfer allows the carer to alleviate any concerns the patient may have as well as minimising any risks.

Minimised risk thanks to dual strap technology

With a standard transfer aid there can be a risk of the patient coming into contact with the spreader bar, however with the dual strap technology this risk is removed as there is no spreader bar.

This allows for continuous eye contact between the client and carer at all times, ensuring the carer can interact with the patient and provide reassurance at all times. No spreader bar also removes any fears the patient might have about coming into contact with the equipment or the equipment passing their face.

This Invacare Robin has been developed with a particular emphasis on safety.

Ease of use and a focus on safety with this gantry hoist

The dual strap system allows for simple effortless attachment of the sling with the added security of a simple locking mechanism. The self-adjusting straps adjust to the patient’s body shape, and the centrifugal braking system ensure that the straps are synchronised for a balanced and even lift.

Should an emergency situation arise lowering, raising and stop functions come as standard built into the motor unit, and the lifting mechanism has an overload security system.

All these features combine to offer peace of mind during use. Buy yours today!

You will be contacted by the office the day before your delivery is due to arrive with confirmation of a time slot.

It is important to note that with this type of delivery it is a “kerbside” delivery which means that the driver will unload your item(s) from the van but will not take the item into the property or set up the item. Some of the items can be very heavy and you may need to arrange assistance with moving and setting up the equipment once it has been delivered.

Our standard delivery service only applies to England and Wales. Areas outside of this may be available but would need to be discussed with our customer service team on 0800 111 6234 who will be able to provide a quote for this service.

Engineered Delivery – An engineered delivery includes a fully trained delivery driver delivering your products and will set up/assemble your product along with demonstrating how to use it correctly. Finally, any packaging is taken away so you don’t have to worry about disposal or recycling.

Our engineered delivery service only applies to England and Wales. Areas outside of this maybe available but would need to be discussed with our customer service team on 0800 111 6234 who will be able to provide a quote for this service.

Costs

There are two different costs associated with these types of deliveries:

Standard Delivery – Is free on all purchases above £40

Engineered Delivery – This cost is calculated based on the first part of the delivery postcode. By adding your chosen product to the basket at the beginning of the checkout process you will be able to access delivery cost and the delivery options that are available to you. There are set “standard” delivery days depending on your postcode, if these days are not convenient you have the option to select “other” day for delivery this includes same day, next day and weekend options. These are charged at a different rate to the standard delivery days.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best overhead hoist solution if I cannot install a ceiling track?

The Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist is an ideal solution when a permanent ceiling track cannot be installed. Its freestanding gantry design provides the benefits of an overhead transfer system without requiring structural changes to walls or ceilings, making it suitable for homes, rented properties, temporary care situations and accessible accommodation.

Is the Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist a good alternative to a ceiling track hoist?

Yes. The Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist provides an overhead transfer solution without the need for permanent ceiling or wall installation. It is particularly useful when a fixed track system is not practical due to property restrictions, temporary care requirements or the need for a more flexible hoisting solution.

Can the Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist be used at home?

Yes. The Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist is suitable for homecare environments where a person requires overhead transfers but a permanent hoist track is not possible. It can be used in private homes, rented accommodation and other settings where flexibility is important.

Can the Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist be moved between rooms or taken away from home?

Yes. One of the key advantages of the Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist is its portability. Unlike fixed ceiling track systems, the gantry setup can be moved between rooms or locations, making it suitable for holidays, visits away from home, rehabilitation stays and temporary care needs.

Why choose the Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist instead of a mobile patient hoist?

The Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist provides an overhead lifting method that can offer advantages over traditional mobile hoists, including improved positioning flexibility and reduced equipment around the patient during transfers. Its dual strap technology removes the need for a spreader bar, helping improve patient comfort and allowing clearer interaction between the patient and carer.

Does the Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist provide a more comfortable transfer experience?

Yes. The Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist is designed to improve comfort through its unique dual strap technology. Unlike traditional hoists with a spreader bar, the Robin reduces the risk of the patient coming into contact with lifting equipment near their face while allowing carers to maintain eye contact and provide reassurance throughout the transfer.

Why does the Invacare Robin Hoist use dual strap technology instead of a spreader bar?

The Invacare Robin Hoist uses dual strap technology to provide a more comfortable and reassuring transfer experience. The absence of a spreader bar helps reduce concerns some patients may have about equipment passing close to them, while the self-adjusting straps adapt to the patient's body shape for a balanced lift.

Is the Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist easy for carers to operate?

Yes. The Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist is designed with carer usability in mind. The sling can be attached easily using the secure locking mechanism, while the self-adjusting straps and synchronised lifting system help provide a controlled and balanced transfer.

What safety features does the Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist have?

The Invacare Robin Gantry Hoist includes several safety features designed to provide reassurance during transfers, including emergency raise, lower and stop functions, a centrifugal braking system and an overload security system. These features help support safe operation for both patients and carers.
