Accora Floorbed

Ultra-low Accora Floorbed  to purchase, reducing risk of fall injuries

The Accora Floorbed  features an ultra-low mattress platform with a height of only 7cm, this ultra-low platform height dramatically reduces the risk of injuries from falls or rolling out of bed. As well as an incredibly low platform height, the FloorBed rises to a higher nursing height of 80cm.

This is to allow for a safer working height for taller carers and nursing staff when attending to a patient.  It’s now available to purchase.

Low Head & Footboards for easier care access

Another benefit of the FloorBed is its low head and foot boards, this allows for easier access for care tasks such as hair care or dressing lower limbs. Another benefit of the low head and foot boards is it will facilitate access for sliding sheets at the head or foot end. This allows a single carer to reposition a person up or down the bed.

Electrically operated fully profiling Accora Floorbed

This FloorBed has the electrically operated functions you would come to expect from a fully profiling nursing style bed. Profiling functions include backrest with auto-regression, kneebreak, anti-Trendelenburg and Trendelenburg allowing the user to position themselves in the bed with ease ensuring safety and comfort at all times.  An ideal purchase for those who are liable to roll out of bed during the night.

Full length support with 2-in-1 mesh bumper and side rails

This for-sale FloorBed can be fitted with the full-length support 2 in 1 mesh bumper and side rail for maximum user safety. The side rails do not affect transfers as they can be lowered below the level of the mattress, the easy lock and lower mechanism makes the simple to use and ensures they are locked securely in position. These are an additional extra, please see “Bed Extras” for pricing.

Ultra Low FloorBed with Junior Kit for safe, low-level sleeping for children and small adults

The Ultra Low FloorBed plus the Junior Kit converts the adult Accora bed into a low, protected sleep surface. It reduces fall risk, lowers entrapment hazards, and keeps caregiving easier. This bundle is for children and smaller adults who need a low bed with extra protection.

Use it when close-to-floor positioning, fall prevention, and entrapment reduction are important. With the junior kit fitted, the FloorBed 2 meets the children’s bed standard EN50637:2017.

The Junior kit contains: Padded head and footboard bumpers to reduce impact and lower injury risk, Integrated junior padded side rail with mattress infill to close gaps and gives a cushioned barrier; it lowers quickly and locks below the mattress for safe transfers, Safety mesh panels, Safety sleeve to cover the platform mechanism to reduce entrapment risk.

Built-in lockable handset pocket to keep the handset stored safely and to prevent tampering, Protection plates for the FloorBed 2 with extra guarding included and Easy to fit fixings that are quick and straightforward to install.

New – Product is brand new and never been used.

Fleet – Product has been used but has been serviced and is in good condition. By choosing a Fleet product for your purchase you will benefit from a reduced purchase price.

Types of Delivery

Two delivery options are available for products purchased from us:

Standard Delivery – Your order will arrive with one of our delivery drivers between 8am-6pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), approximately 5-7 days after the order has been placed. You will be contacted by the office the day before your delivery is due to arrive with confirmation of a time slot.

It is important to note that with this type of delivery it is a “kerbside” delivery which means that the driver will unload your item(s) from the van but will not take the item into the property or set up the item. Some of the items can be very heavy and you may need to arrange assistance with moving and setting up the equipment once it has been delivered.

Our standard delivery service only applies to England and Wales. Areas outside of this may be available but would need to be discussed with our customer service team on 0800 111 6234 who will be able to provide a quote for this service.

Engineered Delivery – An engineered delivery includes a fully trained delivery driver delivering your products and will set up/assemble your product along with demonstrating how to use it correctly. Finally, any packaging is taken away so you don’t have to worry about disposal or recycling.

Our engineered delivery service only applies to England and Wales. Areas outside of this maybe available but would need to be discussed with our customer service team on 0800 111 6234 who will be able to provide a quote for this service.

Costs

There are two different costs associated with these types of deliveries:

Standard Delivery – Is free on all purchases above £40

Engineered Delivery – This cost is calculated based on the first part of the delivery postcode. By adding your chosen product to the basket at the beginning of the checkout process you will be able to access delivery cost and the delivery options that are available to you. There are set “standard” delivery days depending on your postcode, if these days are not convenient you have the option to select “other” day for delivery this includes same day, next day and weekend options. These are charged at a different rate to the standard delivery days.

Collection

We also offer collection from our premises if you would prefer. Collection is free of charge, but it does need to be arranged with our customer service team beforehand. Collection is available Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm (excluding bank holidays). Call our customer service team on 0800 111 6234 to arrange your collection slot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose an ultra low floor bed instead of using bed rails?

It depends on the user's individual needs and risk assessment. An ultra low floor bed is often recommended for people who are at risk of rolling or falling out of bed because it significantly reduces the distance to the floor, helping to minimise the risk of injury. In many cases, healthcare professionals may recommend a floor bed as a safer alternative to bed rails, particularly for people who may attempt to climb over them.

Is an ultra low profiling floor bed suitable for someone living with dementia?

Yes. Ultra low floor beds are commonly chosen for people living with dementia or cognitive conditions where there is an increased risk of falling from bed. By lowering the sleeping platform to just a few centimetres from the floor, the bed helps reduce the likelihood of serious injury while still providing full electric profiling functions for comfort and care.

What are the advantages of buying an ultra low floor bed for home care?

Purchasing an ultra low floor bed gives you a long-term solution that combines safety, comfort and flexibility. Unlike a standard profiling bed, it can be lowered close to floor level to help reduce fall injuries while still raising to a comfortable working height for carers. This makes it well suited to customers planning ongoing care at home rather than a short-term recovery period.

Can an ultra low floor bed adapt if care needs change over time?

Yes. One of the key benefits of an ultra low profiling floor bed is that it can continue to support changing care requirements. Electric height adjustment, backrest and leg profiling, together with compatibility with pressure care mattresses and accessories, mean the bed can be adapted as a user's mobility or clinical needs evolve. This makes it a practical long-term investment for home care.

What should I consider before buying an ultra low profiling floor bed?

Before purchasing, think about the user's mobility, risk of falls, care requirements and the space available in the room. You should also consider whether you'll need accessories such as safety mats, side protection or a pressure-relieving mattress. Choosing the right combination of equipment from the outset can help ensure the bed provides both safety and comfort for years to come.
