The Murrays Medical Aktiv X6 Childrens Wheelchair has a lightweight folding aluminium frame. This makes it incredibly easy to lift, store and transport. Ideal qualities when you are looking to hire a children’s manual wheelchair.

Flip back & Removeable Armrests

This rental children’s wheelchair comes with flip back and removeable armrests as standard. This makes side transfers or getting close a desk / table much easier. Plus, it features comfortable polyurethane armrest pads.

The legrests and rear wheels can be easily removed thanks to their quick release mechanisms. Therefore, this chair can be quickly and simply dismantled for easy storage or putting in to the boot of a car.

Choice of Legrests

This rental manual wheelchairs comes with the option of standard legrests or you can order it with elevating legrests. These are especially useful for when you need to raise your legs for rest or recovery from a broken bone. The footplates are also height and angle adjustable as standard.

Murrays Medical Aktiv X6 Childrens Wheelchair: Safety as Standard

There are lots of other useful features with this wheelchair! it is fitted with any-tip wheels for added safety and it has a stepper to help ease the chair up and over kerbs. The backrest is tension adjustable to suit different users and the upholstery is padded and breathable for added comfort.

This rental childrens wheelchair also complies with EN12183 & Crash Test ISO7176-19:2001 meaning it can be used for occupied transportation.

Important information

We are very happy to provide you with product information and specifications over the telephone or via email but unfortunately, we are unable to make any product recommendations for you. This is because we do not know your individual circumstances or your health requirements.

Wheelchairs are sent next day using an independent courier, orders placed before noon should be with you the following working day. Please read our terms of delivery and collection, placing an order confirms you have read and accept these delivery terms and conditions. Please note that at the end of the short term hire, the hire will only conclude 2 working days following notice, allowing us time to collect.

NB. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the hired product will fit through all access doorways and entrance points, to be able to complete a successful delivery or collection. Any re-delivery or re-collection attempts that need to be made in the case where a hired product does not fit through doorways or access points will be chargable to the hirer. Product dimensions and specifications are provided on the website, if you require any additional measurements to ensure successful delivery or collection it is the responsibility of the hirer to contact Mobility Hire and get these measurements.


If a valid VAT Disclaimer is not submitted within 7 days after commencement of the booking, then the VAT will be collected. If a valid VAT Disclaimer is then submitted and a VAT refund authorised, then a £5.00 administration charge will be made to cover time and costs for refunding the VAT


NEW PRODUCT – A NEW product is just that, brand new and you will be the first user.

FLEET PRODUCT – Carefully prepared this product will have been used, but as we have to service, insure, and repair, then you can benefit from a lesser hire cost. Go for fleet and if you are not happy with the product when it arrives, you can change your rental to a NEW one


TRAVELLING ABROAD: Please note if you are taking any of our hire equipment outside of the country, please be aware that while we are here and very happy to provide you with full telephone or email support, we are unable to provide engineer visits or provision of parts until you are back in the UK.

Courier Delivery

When you rent from us, we take payment on a weekly or monthly basis depending on how long you require the equipment for.  Payments will be taken from the debit or credit card you used at the point of booking until you arrange collection. If you would like to change the card at any time please give the team a call on 0800 111 6234.  Courier delivery procedure is detailed below.

Courier Delivery Procedure

Each of our hire products come with a choice of delivery and collection options to suit you.  We provide same day delivery, next day delivery and even weekend deliveries.  The office will ring you the day before to confirm your estimated delivery time.

Courier items ordered before 3pm will be available for next working day delivery.  Your item(s) will arrive in a custom-made box, which must be kept in order for the equipment to be returned to us.

What to Do When Your Delivery Arrives

After your delivery has been made you will simply need to:

  • Remove the packaging (remember to keep this)
  • Remove your equipment
  • Put your mobility equipment together, if needed, using the instructions provided
  • Your equipment is now ready to use
  • If anything is unclear, please give one of our team a call on 0800 111 6234 and they will be happy to walk you through the process

You can then use your equipment for as long as you require.

Once the time comes for you to return the rental equipment to us:

  • Dismantle the equipment
  • Place it back in its packaging
  • A driver will arrive to collect the equipment from you and return it to us

Ending Your Rental

You can end your rental at any time by contacting a member of our team by telephone or filling in our contact us form.  The hire will conclude 2 working days following notice to allow time for collection.  Our office will ring you to confirm the collection time the day before collection.

If you would like the rental equipment collected from a different address to the delivery address this is not a problem. You can select your different collection address when booking online or you can give our team a call who will be happy to take the different collection address from you.

If you decide to collect your equipment from our store, you will need to phone the office to book a collection slot which is quick, easy and convenient for you.  Please note:  if you decide to collect from our showroom, you will need to bring two forms of I.D from the following list:

Passport

Driving Licence

A letter from the Department of Work and Pensions  

Utility Bills

Bank Statements
