Deluxe Aluminium Knee Walker: Innovative pain free crutch, walking sticks and walkers alternative

Deluxe Aluminium Knee walkers are an innovative pain free alternative to crutches, walking sticks and walkers. You may also see knee walkers called knee scooters or leg trolleys. A knee walker is designed to provide the user with increased freedom and safety when suffering from an injury or disability of the foot or ankle area. To use a knee scooter, you simply mount your injured leg on the large padded knee pad and use your uninjured leg to push and stride around.

Comfort and safety in design

This deluxe aluminium knee walker is designed for use mainly indoor or on smooth, even surfaces. This model features height adjustable steering handles and height adjustable knee pad, this allows you to find a comfortable ride position whatever your height. The large contoured knee pad gives added comfort for the user while the aluminium chassis and wheels give added strength and safety. This model also comes with disc brakes to give you added reliability, safety and peace of mind. This rental knee walker folds to make it easy to transportation and for storage.

These walking aids are a great option and can be really useful for those needing something to help with rehabilitation and recovery from:

  • Before and after ankle or foot surgery
  • Recovering from ankle injury such as a sprain or ligament damage
  • Recovering from a foot wound or ulcer
  • Recovering from an inflamed or torn Achilles tendon
  • Suffering from a permanent foot, ankle or leg disability
  • Having difficulty walking due to one sided foot or ankle stiffness, pain or discomfort

Please note that a knee walker will not be suitable if you have a knee or shin problem, as you need to be able to put weight on to these areas to operate it. If you are experiencing problems with these areas then our Modelito Home Mobility Aid or one of our Manual Wheelchairs with Elevating Legrests might be better suited.

Courier Delivery

When you rent from us, we take payment on a weekly or monthly basis depending on how long you require the equipment for.  Payments will be taken from the debit or credit card you used at the point of booking until you arrange collection. If you would like to change the card at any time please give the team a call on 0800 111 6234.    

Courier Delivery Procedure

Each of our hire products come with a choice of delivery and collection options to suit you.  We provide same day delivery, next day delivery and even weekend deliveries.  

Courier items ordered before 3pm will be available for next working day delivery.  Your item(s) will arrive in a custom-made box, which must be kept in order for the equipment to be returned to us. 

With an independent courier service Horizon Mobility Ltd [HML] cannot be held responsible for timing on this delivery. HML will make every effort to ensure that the courier resolves their problem as soon as is possible to ensure they complete the service in a full and timely fashion

What to Do When Your Delivery Arrives

After your delivery has been made you will simply need to:

  • Remove the packaging (remember to keep this)
  • Remove your equipment from its box
  • Put your mobility equipment together, if needed, using the instructions provided
  • Your equipment is now ready to use
  • If anything is unclear, please give one of our team a call on 0800 111 6234 and they will be happy to walk you through the process

You can then use your equipment for as long as you require.

Once the time comes for you to return the rental equipment to us:

  • Dismantle the equipment
  • Place it back in its packaging
  • Call our office and we can book in a day for the courier to collect from you
  • A driver will arrive to collect the equipment from you and return it to us

Ending Your Rental

You can end your rental at any time by contacting a member of our team by telephone or filling in our contact us form.  The hire will conclude 2 working days following notice to allow time for collection.  Our office will ring you to confirm the collection time the day before collection. 

If you would like the rental equipment collected from a different address to the delivery address this is not a problem. You can select your different collection address when booking online or you can give our team a call who will be happy to take the different collection address from you.

Collecting In-Store

If you decide to collect your equipment from our store, you will need to phone the office to book a collection slot which is quick, easy and convenient for you.
Please note:  if you decide to collect from our showroom, you will need to bring two forms of I.D from the following list:

Passport

Driving Licence

A letter from the Department of Work and Pensions  

Utility Bills

Bank Statements

Condition of products to purchase

Our products that are available to purchase come in two categories:

New – Product is brand new and never been used.

Fleet – Product has been used but has been serviced and is in good condition. By choosing a Fleet product for your purchase you will benefit from a reduced purchase price.

Types of Delivery

Two delivery options are available for products purchased from us:

Standard Delivery – Your order will arrive with one of our delivery drivers between 8am-6pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), approximately 5-7 days after the order has been placed. You will be contacted by the office the day before your delivery is due to arrive with confirmation of a time slot.

It is important to note that with this type of delivery it is a “kerbside” delivery which means that the driver will unload your item(s) from the van but will not take the item into the property or set up the item. Some of the items can be very heavy and you may need to arrange assistance with moving and setting up the equipment once it has been delivered.

Our standard delivery service only applies to England and Wales. Areas outside of this may be available but would need to be discussed with our customer service team on 0800 111 6234 who will be able to provide a quote for this service.

Engineered Delivery – An engineered delivery includes a fully trained delivery driver delivering your products and will set up/assemble your product along with demonstrating how to use it correctly. Finally, any packaging is taken away so you don’t have to worry about disposal or recycling.

Our engineered delivery service only applies to England and Wales. Areas outside of this maybe available but would need to be discussed with our customer service team on 0800 111 6234 who will be able to provide a quote for this service.

Costs

There are two different costs associated with these types of deliveries:

Standard Delivery – Is free on all purchases above £40

Engineered Delivery – This cost is calculated based on the first part of the delivery postcode. By adding your chosen product to the basket at the beginning of the checkout process you will be able to access delivery cost and the delivery options that are available to you. There are set “standard” delivery days depending on your postcode, if these days are not convenient you have the option to select “other” day for delivery this includes same day, next day and weekend options. These are charged at a different rate to the standard delivery days.

Collection

We also offer collection from our premises if you would prefer. Collection is free of charge, but it does need to be arranged with our customer service team beforehand. Collection is available Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm (excluding bank holidays). Call our customer service team on 0800 111 6234 to arrange your collection slot.

If you decide to go ahead with collection, you will need to bring along two forms of I.D. We accept any of the following:

  • Passport
  • Driving Licence
  • A letter from the Department of Work and Pensions
  • Utility Bill
  • Bank Statement

VAT Disclaimer

If you are eligible to not pay VAT on your purchased item(s) we require a valid VAT Disclaimer form to be submitted within 7 days of your purchase, other the VAT will be charged for your order. If we then receive a valid VAT Disclaimer form and a VAT refund is authorised a £5 administration charge will be deducted to cover the time and cost for refunding the VAT.

For new purchases we offer one years’ warranty

For fleet purchases we offer a three – month warranty. All powered fleet products are supplied with new batteries.
