Types of Delivery

Two delivery options are available for products purchased from us:

Standard Delivery – Your order will arrive with one of our delivery drivers between 8am-6pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), approximately 5-7 days after the order has been placed. You will be contacted by the office the day before your delivery is due to arrive with confirmation of a time slot.

It is important to note that with this type of delivery it is a “kerbside” delivery which means that the driver will unload your item(s) from the van but will not take the item into the property or set up the item. Some of the items can be very heavy and you may need to arrange assistance with moving and setting up the equipment once it has been delivered.

Our standard delivery service only applies to England and Wales. Areas outside of this may be available but would need to be discussed with our customer service team on 0800 111 6234 who will be able to provide a quote for this service.

Engineered Delivery – An engineered delivery includes a fully trained delivery driver delivering your products and will set up/assemble your product along with demonstrating how to use it correctly. Finally, any packaging is taken away so you don’t have to worry about disposal or recycling.

Our engineered delivery service only applies to England and Wales. Areas outside of this maybe available but would need to be discussed with our customer service team on 0800 111 6234 who will be able to provide a quote for this service.

Costs

There are two different costs associated with these types of deliveries:

Standard Delivery – Is free on all purchases above £40

Engineered Delivery – This cost is calculated based on the first part of the delivery postcode. By adding your chosen product to the basket at the beginning of the checkout process you will be able to access delivery cost and the delivery options that are available to you. There are set “standard” delivery days depending on your postcode, if these days are not convenient you have the option to select “other” day for delivery this includes same day, next day and weekend options. These are charged at a different rate to the standard delivery days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Bariatric Stand Aid suitable for heavier users?

Yes. The Bariatric Stand Aid is specifically designed for larger users, supporting individuals up to 330kg (51 stone) during assisted sit-to-stand transfers. Its reinforced steel construction, adjustable padded knee support and secure sling attachment points provide additional stability for users who need greater support than a standard standing aid can offer.

What makes the bariatric stand aid different from a standard standing aid?

The Bariatric Stand Aid offers a higher weight capacity, increased adjustability and enhanced stability compared with many standard standing aids. Designed for bariatric users, it features an adjustable and removable foot rail, three height settings on the padded knee pad, electrically operated leg spreader and sturdy steel construction to provide a safer and more comfortable transfer experience.

Who is the Bariatric Stand Aid suitable for?

The HMS Vilgo Vertic Fortissimo Bariatric Stand Aid is suitable for users who can bear some weight and participate in an active transfer but need additional support to stand or sit safely. It is designed for larger individuals who want to maintain independence during transfers while receiving assistance from carers in private homes, hospitals, residential care settings and other healthcare environments.

Does the Bariatric Stand Aid require the user to support their own weight?

Yes. The Bariatric Stand Aid is designed for users who have some weight-bearing ability and can actively participate during sit-to-stand transfers. Unlike a full-body hoist, a standing aid supports the user while encouraging them to use their remaining strength. Users who cannot safely support their own weight may require a different transfer solution following an appropriate assessment.

Is the Bariatric Stand Aid suitable for use at home?

Yes. The Bariatric Stand Aid is suitable for private homes as well as professional care environments where larger users need regular transfer support. Its large handles help carers manoeuvre the equipment, while the electrically operated leg spreader allows easier positioning around chairs and transfer areas. This makes it a practical option for families and carers supporting someone at home.

How does the Bariatric Stand Aid make transfers easier for carers?

The Bariatric Stand Aid helps carers perform safer and more controlled transfers through its ergonomic design and supportive features. Large handles, braked rear castors, an electrically operated leg spreader, padded knee support and secure sling attachment points help improve stability and reduce the physical effort required during everyday transfers.

Can the Bariatric Stand Aid fit around beds, chairs and toilet areas?

Yes. The Bariatric Stand Aid is designed to support transfers around common care environments including beds, chairs and toilet areas. Its manoeuvrable design, large handles and electrically operated leg spreader help carers position the standing aid effectively, making it suitable for both domestic and professional care settings.

Can the Bariatric Stand Aid be adjusted to suit different bariatric users?

Yes. The Bariatric Stand Aid has multiple adjustment options to support different user requirements. The adjustable and removable foot rail, combined with three height settings on the large padded knee support, allows carers to create a more comfortable and secure setup for different body shapes and sizes.

Is the Bariatric Stand Aid a good long-term investment?

Yes. The Bariatric Stand Aid is a worthwhile long-term investment for individuals and care providers who require regular support with bariatric transfers. Its 330kg capacity, robust steel construction and adaptable design provide a reliable solution for ongoing sit-to-stand transfers while helping support user comfort and carer confidence.
