Frequently Asked Questions

Should I buy a hybrid air mattress instead of a traditional alternating air mattress?

A hybrid air mattress combines the comfort and stability of high-quality foam with the therapeutic benefits of alternating air cells. Unlike many traditional alternating air mattresses, it can often be used as both a static and dynamic pressure care system, giving you greater flexibility as care needs change. For many long-term users, this makes a hybrid mattress a more versatile investment.

Who should consider purchasing the Apollo Morpheus Air Zero Hybrid Air Mattress?

The Apollo Morpheus Air Zero Hybrid Air Mattress is ideal for people who are at high to very high risk of developing pressure ulcers, or those with existing tissue damage who require advanced pressure redistribution. It is suitable for use in the home, hospitals, hospices and residential care settings where long-term pressure management is required.

Can I use the Apollo Morpheus Air Zero Hybrid Mattress on my existing profiling bed?

In many cases, yes. The Apollo Morpheus Air Zero Hybrid Air Mattress is designed to work with profiling hospital beds, allowing the mattress to flex with the bed's adjustable functions while continuing to provide effective pressure redistribution. If you're unsure whether it is compatible with your current bed, our team will be happy to advise before you purchase.

Is a hybrid air mattress more cost-effective than buying separate static and alternating mattresses?

Yes. This is because the Apollo Morpheus Air Zero Hybrid Mattress can operate as both a static support surface and, when powered, a dynamic alternating pressure system, it removes the need to purchase two separate mattresses. This makes it a practical and cost-effective solution for people whose pressure care requirements may change over time.

How does the four-zone support system benefit the user?

The mattress has dedicated support zones for the head, torso, sacral area and heels, helping to distribute pressure where it is needed most. This targeted approach improves comfort while helping to reduce pressure on areas that are particularly vulnerable to skin breakdown.

Is the Apollo Morpheus Air Zero Hybrid Mattress easy for carers to manage?

Yes. The mattress has been designed with carers in mind and includes features such as an easy-to-use pump, automatic pressure adjustment, CPR rapid deflation and a wipe-clean cover. These features help simplify daily care while providing reassurance that the mattress is delivering the correct level of support.

Can the mattress still be used during a power failure?

Yes. One of the key advantages of a hybrid system is that the foam support layer continues to provide pressure redistribution even when the powered functions are not in use. This offers greater peace of mind during temporary power interruptions compared with systems that rely solely on continuous air inflation.

Can I buy the Apollo Morpheus Air Zero Hybrid Mattress with a hospital bed?

Absolutely. The Apollo Morpheus Air Zero Hybrid Air Mattress can be purchased on its own or as part of a complete hospital bed package. Buying both together ensures compatibility and allows you to create a comprehensive pressure care solution tailored to your individual needs.
